Join in Helping Young Women Persevere!

Transitions can be incredibly challenging, especially without the necessary support and services. Unfortunately, Baldwin County currently lacks a transitional home for young ladies aged 18-23. At Under His Wings, we have been providing residential care for young ladies aged 13-18 for the past decade. Recognizing the pressing need, we are determined to expand our impact to include young adult women. In the past, we have achieved success in guiding graduates aged 18 and above towards an academic or stable home environment. However, we are continuously receiving calls from young adults who are desperately in need of assistance.

These individuals are looking for a haven where they can receive the support and guidance necessary to navigate the challenges they face. They are seeking an opportunity to learn valuable life skills and develop the confidence needed to create a brighter SECURE future for themselves. At Under His Wings, we aim to be that guiding light for these young adults.

The Vision

Our vision is to create a loving Christian home that fosters a supportive and healthy environment for young adults ages 18-23. We will have mentor moms who will play a crucial role in fostering discipleship and offering life skills training. This transitional program will serve as a hand up, empowering these young ladies to carve out their own optimistic path in life. Each resident will receive individual counseling and be assigned a performance coach. Together, they will identify specific goals, create milestones, and develop actionable plans to achieve success.

We firmly believe in equipping our participants with the necessary tools for success, which is why we place a strong emphasis on key life skills. From decision-making strategies to stress management and responsible time and money management, we will empower these young women to become competent and confident in navigating life's challenges.

Furthermore, we plan to leverage the extensive network and influence of Under His Wings to connect our program participants to valuable internship and career opportunities within Baldwin County.

While the services provided by Under His Wings will come at no cost to our residents or their families, they will build credit by paying rent when they stay at Under His Wings. This provides an opportunity for them to invest in the future of other families by becoming donors within our community. This unique approach allows our residents to be altruistic by contributing to the healing and transformation of our community. We will foster resilience in these young ladies so that they can become the person God created them to be.

The funds raised in this campaign will double the impact in our community. We plan to use the current home for this new program, and this capital campaign will provide for a second home designed to accommodate house parents with a family for our current COURAGE home.
